Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring AWHONN ratio experience and at least 2 years in specialty.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a short term acute care hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • On-call required for low census situations only
  • Floating between units based on unit needs
  • Follows AWHONN patient ratio guidelines
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery specialty required
  • Certifications required: BLS, NRP
  • Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
  • Experience required in Labor and Delivery Management, Postpartum Care, Fetal Monitoring, and Antepartum Care
  • Experience with sterile vaginal exams, circulating for C-sections, and triage of obstetrical patients required
  • Experience with internal and external fetal monitoring preferred, including spiral electrode placement
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
  • Participate in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Follow baby-friendly protocols and provide newborn wound assessment/care
  • Scrubs provided for Maternal Child unit staff
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All time off requests must be submitted upfront prior to start of assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
