Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications.

Details

Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Patient ratio of 1:2
Weekend requirement of 2 weekends every 6 weeks, with night shift weekends potentially including Fridays
No on-call responsibilities
No floating required outside of scope
Cerner charting system used
Facility delivers between 100 and 300 births

Requirements

Active CA RN license required
Current certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
Vaginal exam ability/experience required
Baby care ability/experience required

Additional Information

Acute care Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma Center status
Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including fetal monitoring and newborn care
Strict dress code enforced, including no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings other than earlobe earrings, and all tattoos must be covered
Scrub color is flexible, but camouflage or character patterns are not permitted
Only one holiday request will be accommodated, and staff will most likely be required to work holidays

Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
