Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring prior travel experience and NC or compact licensure.

Details

  • Level 1 nursery facility caring for patients greater than 35 weeks gestation
  • Patient population includes pre-eclampsia, GDM, Oligo, GHTN, and other obstetrical disorders
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
  • Weekend and holiday rotation required
  • Low census on-call required
  • Floating to Postpartum unit as needed
  • Centricity charting system experience preferred
  • Biweekly orientation schedule

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Must pass EKG/Telemetry exam onsite
  • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, use of infusion pumps, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulating, EFM use, NST, triage of obstetrical patients, and postpartum and newborn care

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Scrubs provided
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted within 75 miles at a reduced rate
  • Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed within the past 6 months
  • RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
