Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30). Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550+ deliveries per month and 31 labor rooms
- Comprehensive experience with high-risk obstetrics, including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
- Four operating rooms supporting all types of deliveries in a fast-paced teaching environment
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
- Opportunity to function as Baby Nurse during deliveries and provide complete newborn care through transfer to postpartum
- 26-week assignment with 36-40 hours of orientation
Requirements:
- Active Washington State RN license or Compact license
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required; high-risk experience strongly preferred
- BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
- Epic charting system experience required (electronic fetal monitoring/OBIX)
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections (hard requirement)
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse, including newborn assessments, Vitamin K and eye prophylaxis administration (hard requirement)
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, multiple births, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and neonatal resuscitation
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments with patient ratios of 1:2
- Willingness to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister facilities as needed
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
