Location: 3655 Mitchell Street, Loris, SC 29569
Contract Duration: November 1, 2026 – January 30, 2027 
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shift
Work Schedule: 3 shifts per week
On-Call Requirement: 4 twelve-hour call shifts within a 6-week period
Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly
Orientation Pay: 50%
 

Please note that the pay schedule is bi-weekly and during orientation, you will be paid 50% of your pay rate.

Position Overview

McLeod Regional Medical Center is seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses (RN L&D) to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process. Nurses will assess patient needs, implement appropriate nursing interventions, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of nursing experience and be comfortable working in a busy Labor and Delivery unit, floating to similar units as needed, and participating in scheduled on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs through medical history, observation, physical examinations, and diagnostic data.
• Provide age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the patient's plan of care and established nursing standards.
• Deliver compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care to patients, families, and visitors.
• Follow infection prevention, health, and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
• Adhere to nursing-sensitive quality indicators and established clinical workflows.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support safe patient outcomes.
• Participate in evidence-based nursing practices and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
• Support the training, mentoring, and precepting of new nursing staff as needed.
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education and goal setting.
• Float to similar units as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification/Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Previous Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to South Carolina.
• BLS and NRP
