Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550 deliveries per month and 31 beds
- Comprehensive maternal care including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
- Four operating rooms supporting all types of deliveries in a fast-paced teaching environment
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate high-risk experience
- 26-week assignment with 36-40 hours of orientation
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience with high-risk patient populations required
- Epic charting system experience required; electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX) experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum (hard requirement)
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections (hard requirement)
- Proficiency in newborn assessments, eye prophylaxis, and Vitamin K injections (thighs)
- Experience with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environments with patient ratios of 1:2
- Willingness to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister facilities for Labor and Delivery coverage
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
