Labor and Delivery Nurse

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong labor and delivery experience and be comfortable with a variety of clinical tasks in a maternity setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cervical exams and manage antepartum and labor patients.
  • Administer amnio infusions and epidurals as necessary.
  • Conduct fetal monitoring and initiate IV therapy including Pitocin administration.
  • Circulate during C-sections and assist with newborn delivery (baby catching).
  • Evaluate newborns using the APGAR scoring system.
  • Provide breastfeeding support and education to new mothers.
  • Deliver comprehensive post-partum care from transition to discharge for both mother and baby.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring are required.
  • Strong skills in circulating C-sections and neonatal care.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR is strongly preferred.
  • Scrub experience is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Comfort with multi-lingual populations (preferably Russian and Spanish).

Work Environment

This position is based in a facility with a total of 20 beds, including 12 labor and delivery and 8 postpartum/antepartum beds, as well as 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 operating rooms, and a 6-bed Level II NICU.

No on-call duties are required.

Teal scrubs will be provided for the duration of the assignment.
