Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • High-volume facility with 200-300+ births per month
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
  • May be required to float
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • IV start and maintenance skills required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor (Charge RN acceptable for second reference, no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Support high-risk antepartum patients and manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Perform fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Circulate and recover C-section patients
  • Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees are eligible for assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to urgent processing requirements
