Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a high risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 beds and 4 ORs
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• Utilizes Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum units and to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current BLS and NRP certification required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• High risk L&D experience required
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high acuity environment
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in circulating for C-sections, assisting with high risk and vaginal deliveries, and newborn care including eyes, thighs, and assessments
• Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate administration
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Functions as baby nurse during delivery, providing continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Provides newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Circulates for deliveries and C-sections as needed
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis and should be requested upfront
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of the facility
• Former Providence perm employees may return as travelers after a 3 month separation period, provided they reside outside a 50 mile radius
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
