Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring WA or compact RN license and Epic experience.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit in a teaching hospital setting with 200-300 births per month
  • 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
  • Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high risk antepartum, and low risk antepartum/LD
  • Duties include circulating, OB-GYN care, pre-op/post-op, scrub, couplet care, and transition nursery support
  • Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
  • Utilizes special equipment including epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, and IUPC placement/calibration
  • Administers blood/blood products, magnesium sulfate, heparin, and insulin drips
  • Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
  • Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance, anticoagulation therapy, and medication administration
  • Experience with labor and delivery management including assisting high risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and recovering C-sections required
  • Experience with fetal monitoring, antepartum care, and obstetrical triage required
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

  • Must commit to working 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's/Eve)

  • Accepts local candidates at the same bill rate
  • Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
  • Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
