- Charting: Cerner preferred
- Patient Ratio: 6 on days, nights, and weekends
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
- Experience with Cerner preferred
- Strong skills in fetal monitoring, obstetric triage, and maternal-newborn care
- Ability to work night shifts and a rotating weekend schedule
- Travel nursing experience required for success in this role
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring and postpartum patients
- Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and recovery care
- Support antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients with confidence and professionalism
- Perform triage, patient assessments, and ongoing labor management
- Administer medications and interventions in accordance with obstetric best practices
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and the care team to deliver excellent outcomes
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain a safe, organized unit workflow
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the birth experience
