Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and NRP certification for a rotating shift assignment.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit providing care across L&D, LDRP, and Mother/Baby settings
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Rotating 12-hour shifts (0645-1915 days / 1900-0700 nights)
  • Every third weekend required
  • Floating expected to cover patient safety sitter or nursing assistant roles without taking a patient assignment
  • Administers medications including Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin)
  • Performs antepartum care and procedures and triage of obstetrical patients

Requirements

  • Active Minnesota RN license in hand or proof of Minnesota license application required at submission
  • BLS and NRP certification required
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Charting system experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
  • Must complete required lab work within 48 hours of signing the contract
  • Must complete Livescan fingerprinting in person in Minnesota on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date, per Minnesota state requirement
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates within 25 miles of the facility are not accepted
