Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of high-risk L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital setting
• Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk labor, antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2 in Labor and 1:3 in Antepartum
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Some weekend shifts required
• Floating required between units and sister facilities
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience managing high-risk deliveries, VBAC/TOLAC, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies required
• Ability to function independently in L&D setting
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care for high-risk labor, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients
• Manage active labor including induction, augmentation, and maternal emergencies
• Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal heart monitoring and IUPC placement
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including scrubbing and circulating roles
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal resuscitation
• Support postpartum recovery including hemorrhage management and lactation support
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Minimal RTO requests accepted; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate; 50-mile radius rule applies
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after 3 months, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers welcome to apply given prior L&D experience
• No fee for parking at the facility
