Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30). Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550+ deliveries per month and 31 beds
- Comprehensive perinatal services including 4 operating rooms for cesarean sections and high-risk deliveries
- Diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team with respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
- First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience and qualifications
- 91-day assignment with orientation provided
Requirements:
- Active Washington state RN license or valid Compact license
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- High-risk obstetric experience required; must be comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Epic charting system experience and electronic fetal monitoring proficiency required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections
- Competency in newborn assessments, Vitamin K and eye prophylaxis administration required
- Experience with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Willingness to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister facilities as needed
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
