- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 26 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
- Schedule Type: Block scheduling
- Float: May float between Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or other functional areas as needed
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Charting System: Epic
- Weekend Requirement: Some weekend shifts
- Call: Not required
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in hand; compact license required at submission if applicable
- At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous experience with high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, and maternal emergencies preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, and NRP
- Proficiency with Epic charting required
- Experience supporting ratios of 1:2 in Labor and 1:3 in Antepartum
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and a flexible block schedule
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced obstetric unit
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
- Monitor fetal status and respond to changes using evidence-based obstetric nursing practices
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, inductions, augmentations, and obstetric emergencies
- Support patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, and placental complications
- Perform assessments, administer medications and IV therapies, and maintain accurate documentation in Epic
- Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the labor, delivery, and recovery process
- Float as needed to support related areas within the facility and deliver exceptional patient care
