• Schedule Notes: Weekend and holiday coverage may be required; scheduling needs are posted in advance
• Floating: May float to Postpartum, Antepartum, or nearby sister units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license, with compact license in hand at submission if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• High-risk Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, high-acuity women’s health environment
• Must have experience with electronic fetal monitoring
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections and provide newborn care after delivery
• References and travel compliance documents required prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring patients and newborns
• Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with operative deliveries
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Complete newborn assessments, including eyes, thighs, and vital newborn safety checks
• Administer and support care related to medications and therapies such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin, and Heparin
• Support high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent patient care
• Work within AWHONN guidelines and maintain safe, patient-centered practices
• Adapt quickly to changing unit needs in a busy, high-volume Seattle healthcare setting
