- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
- Setting: High-risk perinatal care unit with Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, OR, PACU, and Triage coverage
- Start Date: 2026-09-28
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Charting System: Epic
- Schedule Notes: Weekends required; floating to postpartum required
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Compact license required at submission, if applicable
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
- AWHONN Advanced is preferred and accepted for this unit
- Strong experience with sterile vaginal exams (SVE) required
- Epic experience required
- Comfortable caring for high-risk obstetric and perinatal patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative acute care environment
- Must be willing to float and work scheduled weekends
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and antepartum patients
- Monitor fetal status and perform interventions as needed during labor and delivery
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and recovery care
- Support high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients with individualized bedside care
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and assess labor progression
- Administer medications and therapies such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and insulin drips as indicated
- Respond to obstetric emergencies including hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, and fetal distress
- Collaborate with providers, surgical teams, and interdisciplinary staff to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain strong communication throughout the shift
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the birth and postpartum experience
