Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00), various days of the week
  • Every other weekend required per unit needs, subject to change
  • On-call requirement of 1 shift every 6 weeks
  • Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, may include sister facilities within the North region
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Scrubs provided

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CO state or compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate; ACLS and STABLE preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high-risk delivery assistance
  • Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal) and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Experience managing high-risk OB conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, PROM, and preterm labor
  • Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
  • Facility performs 100-200 births per month in a community-level setting
  • Assist with high-risk and low-risk vaginal deliveries and C-sections
  • Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessments
  • Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
  • Complete all facility-specific training modules within the first week of assignment
  • First-time travelers considered if experience requirements are met and it is the right fit
  • Candidates local to the facility may be eligible for a reduced local rate if residing within 75 miles
  • Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during key holiday and high-census dates
  • No blocked scheduling requests permitted
  • Previous UCHealth employees (including affiliated hospitals) must disclose prior employment for eligibility review
  • Travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
