Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a critical access hospital, requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and current BLS and NRP certification.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a critical access, Level 4 trauma facility with 19 staffed beds and under 100 births per month
  • LDRP care model covering triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
  • Patient ratios: 1:3 during days, 1:2-3 on nights and weekends, with average daily census of 1-2
  • Every other weekend required, with flexibility to every third weekend considered
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May float outside OB scope to support med/surg patients (VS, toileting, repositioning) or serve as a mental health/safety watcher, without taking a med/surg patient assignment
  • Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active or pending MN RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS and NRP
  • Preferred certification: AWHONN Intermediate
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) and IV start skills required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Must be able to care for all aspects of labor and delivery including triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Documentation required for consideration: date of birth, SSN, copy of certifications, Nursys verification, and RTO
  • Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
  • Candidates must complete required pre-start modules prior to starting
  • MN state-mandated fingerprinting (LiveScan) required, which may require travel if not near an approved location
  • Background check must not have any open cases to proceed
  • Returning staff must have a break of at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
  • RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are not accepted; a 100-mile radius from the facility is required
  • Facility does not provide references for travelers post-assignment or for former perm employees
