Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment at a Level III high-risk perinatal unit, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN/fetal monitoring certification.

Details

  • Level III high-risk perinatal unit with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, and 30 postpartum beds
  • Facility handles 200-300 deliveries per month
  • Unit includes 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Floating to Postpartum required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Staffing goals include 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplet care in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
  • Support staff includes surgical techs, CNAs, delivering providers, CRNAs, and health unit coordinators
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) skill is a hardstop requirement
  • Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation, and postpartum hemorrhage care preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and fetal monitoring (external required, internal preferred)
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum units including high-risk pregnancy management
  • Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction and high-risk delivery support
  • Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
  • Perform newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
  • Provide postpartum care including couplet care, lactation support, and management of postpartum hemorrhage
  • Any scrub color accepted except reddish orange
  • Facility-paid parking provided
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration
  • Local candidates not accepted; candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius for travel rate eligibility
  • Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the health system
