Seeking a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Rockford, Illinois. Join a high-volume maternal-child healthcare team and make a meaningful impact for birthing patients and their families while earning an estimated $2,090–$2,200 per week.

This on-site travel nurse opportunity offers the chance to work in a well-equipped Labor & Delivery setting that supports approximately 230 deliveries per month. The unit includes 14 labor rooms, triage and observation rooms, operating rooms, PACUs, and a dedicated OB emergency department. Rockford provides a welcoming community with convenient access to parks, cultural attractions, dining, and the greater northern Illinois region.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
• Location: Rockford, Illinois
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 13, 2027
• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday as scheduled

Labor & Delivery RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience in a mid-sized or large hospital
• Labor & Delivery clinical experience with the ability to care for patients throughout the perinatal process
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including scheduled weekend and holiday rotations

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns according to clinical standards
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, surgical teams, and multidisciplinary staff during deliveries and procedures
• Support patients receiving care in labor rooms, triage and observation areas, operating rooms, PACUs, and the OB emergency department
• Administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate documentation, and provide patient and family education
• Promote a positive birth experience through attentive communication, emotional support, and evidence-based nursing care
