Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience and MN RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units
• Acute care teaching hospital with Level 2 Trauma Center designation
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day
• 3x12 hour shifts available in Day (0700-1930) or Night (1900-0730) rotations
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring required
• Experience with IUPC placement and calibration required
• Ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns required
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Nitrous oxide pain management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across both labor/delivery and post-partum settings within the Mother Baby Center
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidates accepted
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked in a perm staff or per diem role
