Join a dynamic team as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) at a leading acute-care hospital in Lee's Summit, MO. We are seeking skilled and compassionate RNs to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with a supportive team dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery patients, ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs using advanced fetal monitoring technology.
• Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including high-risk deliveries and Cesarean sections.
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients as needed.
• Administer medications and IV fluids, including Pitocin and magnesium sulfate therapy.
• Support patients with breastfeeding and lactation needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to postpartum unit to provide couplet care or care for postpartum mothers as necessary.

Requirements:

• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP.
• Experience with antepartum and intrapartum care, as well as high-risk deliveries.
• Ability to work a minimum of 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, including 2 Sunday night shifts and 2 Friday day shifts.
• Willingness to be on-call for 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period.
• Local candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility.
• Pending licenses accepted.
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed during the contract period.

This facility features a Labor & Delivery unit with 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms, providing care for both antepartum and intrapartum patients.
