Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Lee's Summit, MO. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can utilize your skills in labor and delivery. With a focus on high-quality patient care, you will be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional support to mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to antepartum and intrapartum patients, ensuring adherence to AWHONN staffing standards.
• Assist with labor and delivery, including high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections.
• Utilize advanced monitoring techniques, including External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC) placement.
• Administer medications and manage pain relief options, including epidurals and IV medications.
• Conduct assessments and interventions for various obstetric conditions, including pre-eclampsia, multiple gestations, and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Certifications required: BLS, FHM, NRP.
• Ability to work 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.
• Willingness to float to postpartum unit for couplet care as needed.
• Pending license accepted; local candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility.
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed.

This facility features a Labor and Delivery unit that houses antepartum and intrapartum patients, with 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms. The postpartum unit includes 15 rooms, providing a comprehensive setting for maternal care. The RN-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1, with adjustments based on patient acuity.
