Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• High-volume facility with 200-300+ births per month
• May be required to float to other units
• Cares for high-risk antepartum, postpartum, and surgical obstetric patients including cesarean sections and multiple births

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (or NCC C-EFM in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and use of infusion pumps
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including fetal monitoring, pain management, and emergency response
• Responsibilities include circulating and recovering C-section patients, administering Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate, and supporting breastfeeding and lactation
• Perform newborn care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, cord sampling, and use of radiant warmers
• Must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly upon accepting an offer, including lifetime background checks
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel assignments
• First-time travelers may be considered
