Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30). Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
Highlights:
- High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 500-600 deliveries per month and average daily census of 15 patients
- 31-bed unit with 4 operating rooms supporting diverse patient populations including midwifery clients, private OBs, and Adult Recovery Services
- Comprehensive newborn care responsibilities including functioning as Baby Nurse during delivery, performing newborn assessments, and administering eyes and Vitamin K injections
- Required to circulate for cesarean sections and provide care for high-risk, fast-paced deliveries
- Floating required to Postpartum/Antepartum units and potentially to sister facilities for Mother/Baby care
- Six-month travel assignment with 40 hours of orientation and interdisciplinary support including interpretation services
Requirements:
- Active Washington state RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
- High-risk Labor and Delivery experience required; ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Epic charting system experience required (hard stop)
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Experience with circulating for C-sections and providing comprehensive newborn care (hard stop requirement)
- Proficiency with medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- First-time travelers accepted
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
