As a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients during one of the most significant moments of their lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and perform triage of obstetrical patients.
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and maternal vital signs.
• Administer medications, including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy.
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and manage pain through various anesthesia methods.
• Support breastfeeding and provide lactation support to new mothers.
• Conduct newborn assessments, including identification of hypoglycemia and thermoregulation.
• Educate parents on discharge procedures and newborn care.
• Maintain and manage central lines, including CVC and PICC.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Current NY Nursing License.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM.
• Experience with charting systems, preferably Allscripts.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with 200-300 facility births per month.
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
