Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and an active WI or compact RN license in hand.

Details

  • Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • 13-week travel contract
  • Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Work settings include Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby units
  • Travelers may float as 'Helping Hands' to other units within scope of practice as needed
  • Every 3rd weekend required
  • One holiday required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
  • Charting via Epic (required)
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS and NRP
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, FHM, and S.T.A.B.L.E
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience across antepartum, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby settings required
  • Proficiency with labor and delivery management including high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response
  • Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and EFM
  • Proficiency with OB medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, insulin drips, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
  • Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
  • Postpartum care experience including couplet care, breastfeeding/lactation support, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension management
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Candidates must be able to pass a fit test for standard respirator mask; shaving is required for proper mask seal — CAPRs and PAPRs are not permitted, and no medical or religious exemptions are accepted

  • Candidates residing within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility cannot return as a traveler until a 6-month break has been taken after reaching the 1-year maximum
  • Baby-friendly protocols are in use at this facility
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Completion of online modules (up to 5–6 hours) is required prior to start and is not paid
  • RTO should be requested upfront whenever possible; participation in holiday rotation may be required
