Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Intermediate certification and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a Labor and Delivery unit within an LDRP model with nursery responsibilities at a Baby Friendly facility
• Cross-trained responsibilities include labor and delivery, circulator role, acute care nursery, and OB triage
• Unit also cares for GYN surgery patients
• RNs perform their own hearing screenings
• Patient ratios: 1:1 with labor patients, 1:2 with cytotec inductions, 1:1 with mag patients, 1:3 with couplet (mother baby) care, and 1:1 if baby is in the sick nursery
• Uses Omnicell medication system
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Call and float requirements apply
• Floating required to other qualified units or campuses based on census needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Lactation and STABLE certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, though candidates with 1+ years of recent unit experience will be considered
• 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with arrhythmia skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases with nursery responsibilities
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on years of experience
• Orientation occurs every Monday with an annual compliance requirement
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility between 90-99.9 miles
