Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring WI or compact RN license and 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit, providing care in Antepartum, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby settings
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• One holiday coverage required
• May float within scope to other units as part of the facility's Helping Hands program
• EPIC charting system required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced), ACLS, S.T.A.B.L.E, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, IV therapy, and administration of blood products
• Experience assisting with high risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Competency in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement/calibration, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with postpartum care including cesarean section, couplet care, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Knowledge of newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care phases
• Follow baby-friendly protocols and support breastfeeding/lactation initiatives
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and antiseizure medications
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room and provide newborn assessments and discharge teaching
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space

• Travelers may be required to participate in holiday rotation
• RTO requests should be submitted as early as possible
