Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency for a hospital setting requiring an Ohio or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Facility birth volume ranges from 200-300+ births per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• May be required to float within the unit
• Handles antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care
• Performs neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and baby catching
• Manages fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM, spiral electrode placement, and IUPC placement/calibration
• Circulates and recovers for C-sections
• Administers Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin)
• Provides postpartum care for C-section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension patients

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• IV start and L&D experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required include starting and maintaining IVs, use of infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, drawing venous blood, and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Previous travel experience preferred but not required
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract, with those outside driving distance receiving a mailed fingerprinting packet
