Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN requiring C-EFM certification and a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience for a day shift assignment.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a Baby Friendly certified hospital
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 07:00 to 19:30
  • Laboring nurses may be assigned Post Partum patients when needed
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • On-call requirement of 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period

Requirements

  • Active MD RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and C-EFM (through NCC)
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • At least 1 previous travel assignment required
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal and C-section deliveries, high-risk delivery assistance, and fetal monitoring
  • Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and pain management procedures including epidural and IV conscious sedation
  • Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Follow Baby Friendly hospital protocols for postpartum care
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Orientation begins on Mondays
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with none allowed during the first two weeks
  • Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
