Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2 years of L&D experience and EPIC EMR proficiency for a night shift assignment.

Details

  • 18-bed Labor and Delivery unit
  • Cares for laboring patients with high acuity needs
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays scheduled as needed
  • Float required to MAU, MBU, and OBSC, and potentially any Cone Health campus
  • Uses EPIC EMR
  • Utilizes Triton and SurgiCount systems

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Must pass a compliance EKG exam (Pass/Fail, two attempts allowed)
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal and C-section delivery support, high-risk delivery assistance, and hemorrhage/shock response
  • Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement/calibration, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Experience administering medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
  • Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care procedures
  • Experience managing high-risk conditions such as HELLP syndrome, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and placenta previa/abruptio
  • Current driver's license required to verify address
  • No open background check cases permitted

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care to high-acuity laboring patients
  • Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and neonatal resuscitation
  • Manage pain relief interventions including epidural anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration
  • Support antepartum and postpartum patients through assessments and procedures
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates within that radius are not accepted
  • RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
  • Third-party education verification required, with degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list not accepted
