Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring NM or compact licensure and AWHONN Intermediate certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital with 100-200 births per month
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirements of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
• Provides antepartum care, labor management, and assists with vaginal and C-section deliveries
• Circulates and recovers C-section patients
• Performs fetal monitoring using external fetal heart monitoring (EFM)

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Mexico or compact) required, pending NM/compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, not including new graduate orientation
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams, obstetrical triage, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with any EMR charting system required; Epic experience preferred
