Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit requiring OK or Compact RN license and basic/intermediate fetal monitoring experience.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit with block scheduling, night shift (3x12, 18:30-07:00)
  • 13-week assignment with every other weekend coverage required
  • Facility performs 100-200 births per month
  • Floating to like units within scope required as needed, with brief orientation provided
  • Care includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor & delivery, and postpartum patients

Requirements

  • Valid OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • 1-2 years recent experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced L&D unit required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required in hand
  • ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
  • Basic/intermediate fetal monitoring experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
  • Skilled in assisting with vaginal delivery and circulating for C-sections
  • Experience with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa/abruptio
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, obstetrical triage, and neonatal care in the delivery room
  • Support for high-risk deliveries, VBAC management, and postpartum hemorrhage care
  • Holiday RTO allowed, with no more than 3 days of RTO auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
  • First-time travelers considered if they have experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit
  • Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
