Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or OK RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Provides care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and after childbirth
• Monitors maternal and fetal vital signs and manages pain including epidurals
• Assists with vaginal and surgical deliveries and educates families on postpartum recovery
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required as needed per department needs
• Holiday coverage required as needed per department needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• NRP certification through AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Implements and monitors patient care plans while coordinating care across disciplines
• Communicates and documents patient condition and carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment
• Follows Standard Precautions using appropriate personal protective equipment
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
