Registered Nurse - Maternity Unit

Schedule

This position involves 3 shifts per week on the Night shift, from 19:00 to 07:30, totaling 36 hours per week. The schedule includes at least 1-2 weekends per month and no holidays.

Job Description

The Maternity Unit is a family-centered, multidisciplinary care area committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout the childbirth experience. The unit is dedicated to delivering high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care while promoting patient safety, education, and positive birth experiences through collaboration among the care team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality postpartum and baby care.
  • Monitor and support antepartum patients, including antepartum monitoring.
  • Ensure patient safety and promote a positive birth experience.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
  • Float to Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in maternity care.
  • Experience with postpartum care and baby care.
  • Fetal monitoring experience (certification not required).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
