Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN - Labor & Delivery for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency at a teaching hospital.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week
  • 13-week assignment length
  • May be required to float to other units
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • IV start and IV therapy/phlebotomy skills required
  • Experience with L&D core competencies including EFM use, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
  • Support high-risk antepartum patients and assist with cesarean section circulation and recovery
  • Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation with radiant warmers
  • Assist with pain management including epidural anesthesia and medication administration such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
  • Monitor fetal heart patterns and recognize abnormal findings using external and internal fetal monitoring
  • Facility supports high delivery volume with 200-300+ births per month
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment consideration after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of the health system are not eligible for traveler positions at this facility
  • RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less
  • Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing to avoid assignment delays
  • Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
