Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Spokane, WA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730), 36 hours per week
- 388-bed hospital with a Level 3 Trauma Center designation
- Labor & Delivery unit with 12 beds, 3 ORs, and 2 OB ER rooms
- Patient population includes high-risk and low-risk antepartum and intrapartum patients, immediate postpartum care, stabilization of normal newborns, and couplet care
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for high-risk patients, 1:2 standard; AWHONN guidelines followed
- Centralized EFM, telemetry EFM, and cardiac telemetry monitoring available
- EMR: Epic (required)
- IV pumps: Baxter; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Fetal monitoring: GE/Centricity and Philips EFM/tele
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- Floating may be required to Postpartum and NICU (Level 2 newborns)
- On-call only applies to scheduled shifts with low census call-offs
- One holiday may be required
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and EFM
- Surgical scrub role requires: BLS and CST
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Proficiency in IUPC, FSE, IV starts, and circulating C-sections required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Manager interviews are conducted for this position
- Unit support includes a receptionist/HUC and charge nurse available 24/7; charge RN serves as resource nurse
- Respiratory therapy available in conjunction with NICU; hospitalist on staff
- RNs perform phlebotomy as needed; IV/VAT team available if needed
- Orientation consists of approximately 2–3 shifts, depending on individual competency and comfort
- Dark blue scrubs are required and provided by the hospital
- Free parking available in designated areas
