Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring current L&D experience and AWHONN/NRP certification.

Details

  • Work in a 29-bed Birthing Center / Labor & Delivery unit
  • Day shift staffed with 1 charge nurse and 3-4 RNs; night shift staffed with 1 charge nurse and 2-3 RNs
  • Patient ratios range from 4-6:1
  • Equipment used includes Welch Allyn vitals machines, CPN monitors, and point-of-care glucose monitoring
  • EMR system is Meditech / CPN
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Unit handles post-operative gynecological and urogynecology surgeries, ectopic pregnancies, and high-risk pregnancies requiring hospitalization (PPROM, preeclampsia, previa, PTL)
  • Performs fetal monitoring (NSTs), GYN oncology post-op care, women's health med-surg, post-partum NICU mom care, and readmitted post-partum complication care

Requirements

  • Active KS or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of current Labor & Delivery RN experience required
  • BLS, AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced), and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
  • OB, med-surg, and GYN experience preferred
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
  • Professional references required (two for FL and MO, one for all other states)
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and related GYN/OB cases
  • Must follow HCA ICARE standards of behavior
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and patient-care focus are valued traits for this unit
