Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Trauma Level I facility requiring at least 3 years of high-acuity L&D experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Trauma Level I facility, also covering Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby
• Patient ratio of 1-2 couplets
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month (Saturday/Sunday)
• No on-call requirements
• Occasional floating to Postpartum within scope of practice
• Epic charting preferred but other EMR experience accepted

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required in hand to apply
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, C-EFM, and RNC-OB
• Minimum 3 years of high-acuity L&D experience required, or 2 years if from a teaching or high-risk facility
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams, NST, EFM/IUPC use and calibration, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and postpartum hemorrhage management required
• Experience administering blood products, starting IVs, and using infusion pumps required
• Neonatal care skills including cord care, newborn assessment, and discharge teaching required
• First-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of relevant experience

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care including high-risk antepartum and couplet care
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction and hemorrhage management
• Deliver neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Support postpartum recovery for vaginal delivery, C-section, multiple births, and pregnancy-induced hypertension cases
• Facility averages over 300 births per month
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Holiday RTO requests reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
