Job Description

Responsible to Unit Director for overall nursing practice, including the responsibility for the assessment of childbearing women, neonates, and family needs, the development of a plan of care, implementation of nursing interventions, and evaluation of nursing care based on outcomes for the population served.

Responsibilities

  • Assist women and infants to attain and maintain optimum health through assessment, stabilization, and planning of care.
  • Promote understanding of family dynamics and their impact on health status.
  • Identify and intervene with vulnerable patients and families-at-risk.
  • Facilitate interaction among family members to promote bonding and understanding of health issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills regarding care for women and infants.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required.
  • Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
  • American Heart Association's BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
