Position Overview
Morristown Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Medical Step-Down/Intermediate Care to join the K3 Step-Down Unit. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level care and will collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in a medical step-down/intermediate care setting.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to promote quality patient outcomes.
- Deliver evidence-based care while maintaining a patient- and family-centered approach.
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, involvement, dignity, and excellence in all aspects of patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic medical records and computer systems effectively.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Float to other units as needed based on facility requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Intermediate Care / Step-Down RN experience.
- Strong patient assessment skills.
- Experience in Intermediate Care Nursing and Step-Down Nursing.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
