Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience with high-risk and immediate newborn care background.

Details

• Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 16 beds and a staff of approximately 120
• Unit staffed with charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and RNs on both day and night shifts
• Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2
• Utilizes Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring equipment
• Charting completed in Cerner and Fetal Ink
• Typical procedures include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU
• No weekend or on-call requirements unless approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk obstetric experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience required
• Circulating experience preferred
• Current certifications required: NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), BLS, ACLS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN or NCCEFM)
• Certifications must not expire within 30 days of assignment start
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care in a busy Labor & Delivery unit supporting vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures
• Work alongside charge nurses, PCTs, and CSTs in a collaborative team environment

• Scrubs are provided according to unit dress code
• Facility is a Magnet-designated hospital and regional referral center with Level II trauma, comprehensive stroke, and Level III NICU services
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered based on required experience and certifications
