Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit for an 8-week assignment. The ideal candidate will possess high-risk, high-volume obstetrical experience, demonstrating the ability to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Highlights

• Location: Dallas, TX
• Unit Type: Labor and Delivery
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 and 3:1 in OBED triage

Shift Details

• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts (3 days/week)
• Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends may be required
• Call Requirements: Yes, to be discussed during the interview
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 40 hours per week

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in high-risk labor and delivery care is required.
• Must have training in high-risk obstetrics, including bedside care and circulating during cesarean sections.
• Experience in recovering high acuity patients is necessary.

Preferred Skills

• Intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certificate preferred.
• Experience with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, dilation and curettage (D&C), and post-delivery recovery care.

Documentation and Equipment

• Documentation System: Meditech, CPN
• Type of Equipment: GE fetal monitors

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Specific color requirements to be provided.
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no artificial nails or gels permitted.
• Hair: Neat and clean; extreme styles and colors are not permitted. Hair must be pulled back if longer than shoulder length.
• Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible.
• Piercings: Only ear piercings are permitted; visible piercings, including nose and tongue rings, are prohibited.

Attendance Policies

Attendance policies must be adhered to as per company standards.

Floating Policy

Float to the antepartum unit may be required as needed within Women’s health.
