Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IR scrub and circulation roles, as well as proficiency in Cath Lab procedures. First-time travelers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of interventional radiology procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
• Perform scrubbing and circulating duties in the IR suite and Cath Lab as needed.
• Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Maintain proficiency with various specialized equipment used in interventional radiology, including Phillips Azurion C-Arm, endoflators, and various sizes of balloons and stents.
• Participate in on-call duties for urgent and emergent cases as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in interventional radiology scrub and circulation roles; Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Current ARRT(R) certification and Maryland state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Radiology Certified in Interventional Studies (RCIS) certification will be considered.

Work Environment

This position is situated in a fast-paced small IR suite, handling moderate to high case volume. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends for urgent/emergent cases.

Patient Care

Patient age range includes adults to geriatrics. Common diagnoses encountered include abdominal ascites, pleural effusions, malfunctioning or thrombosed hemodialysis AVFs/AVGs, new or replacement PICC lines and portacaths, and various biopsy procedures.

Holidays and Weekends

Availability on holidays is required as scheduled. Participation in on-call coverage is mandatory, with approximately every third weekend expected for urgent/emergent cases.
