Radiologic Technologist - Interventional Procedures

Schedule

Day Shift - 8 x 5, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Schedule may change based on need.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, competently applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in a variety of technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.
• Exhibit a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations, and patient monitoring systems.
• Support other departments in performing general radiographic procedures, as needed.
• Foster an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and incorporates a time-out process for patient safety.
• Administer contrast in accordance with assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.
• Interact with patients and co-workers with a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
• Work efficiently as a team member within the department and with other departments to expedite patient care.
• Communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely to help alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
• Identify all patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures.
• Review patient history and assess physician orders while applying specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
• Document patient history in electronic records as required.
• Ensure all exams within the area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked, and all charges are adequately entered.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• ARRT Certificate or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• PA licenses: Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.
• For NY and MD: ARRT Certificate or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Basic Life Support (BLS), and State License.
