Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a high-acuity Cardiac Cath Lab requiring 3+ years of experience and ARRT(R) certification.

Details

  • Fast-paced, high-acuity Cath Lab performing 24-40 cases per day
  • Adult patient population only, no pediatrics
  • 15 total labs shared between Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid, with travelers working strictly in the approximately 11 Cath Lab rooms
  • Cases include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella
  • ECMO experience preferred
  • Peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases including some fistulograms
  • Hybrid cases include AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, and Watchman procedures (experience preferred but not required)
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris, Pyxis, GE C-arms, GE Pruka (Maclab) hemodynamic system, Fuji and ProSolv PACS, and Maquet IABP
  • Other equipment used includes Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, and Anari (experience not required)
  • Department staffed 24/7 with varying 8-hour or 12-hour shifts (1200-2030 or 0800-2030) or a combination to meet weekly hour requirements
  • Weekend scheduling is possible but typically limited to call coverage
  • On-call rotation of up to 7 days (Friday-Friday) every 2-3 months, with 30-minute response time required
  • No floating required

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Cath Lab and peripheral procedures required
  • ARRT(R) certification required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • WI license required if applicable
  • RCIS certification preferred
  • Scrubbing and panning skills required
  • Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with recent experience within the last year
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Must be able to work with adult patient populations only
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

  • Level III Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Magnet-designated facility

  • One week of orientation provided
  • Covid vaccine required
  • Scrubs provided

  • Facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting staff to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
  • Travelers typically do not work holidays, though holiday coverage may occasionally be required
  • Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
  • First-time travelers not considered for this role
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
  • Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
