Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for a combo IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab.
Details
- Combo lab setting covering IR, Cardiology, Vascular, and EP procedures, approximately 80% IR and 20% other procedure types
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Patient diagnoses include device implants such as PPM and ICD
- Performs scrub, circulate, and telemetry duties for IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
- Procedures include diagnostic and interventional radiology, left/right heart catheterization, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, thoracentesis, stent placement, carotid stenting, biliary drainage, cholangiogram, renal and ureteral stent placement, kyphoplasties, and biopsies
- Uses GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Call requirement of minimum 7 days per month, typically two call days per week for two weeks each month plus one call weekend per month
- Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time varies by procedure type
- Call team consists of three staff members including one RN
- No floating requirement
- Weekend requirement is every third weekend
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, with IR experience comprising 90% of the role
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- ARRT or RCIS certification required
- ARRT Advanced certification, RCES, and RCIS with medical experience preferred
- EKG lead placement skills preferred
- Must be comfortable performing room circulator duties
- Must maintain sterile field while scrubbing
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Assist providers in performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
- Medication administration is performed by RN only
- Scrubs are provided
- Unit orientation is 40-80 hours, with techs starting directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed
- Pre-start modules for acute care roles require approximately 8-10 hours, completed online and annually
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying and must disclose prior employment details
- Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
- Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units with separate schedules disclosed
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- No additional RTO can be requested after signing
