Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology RN for a 13-week day shift contract requiring an active OR RN license and 3+ years of nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology/Cardiology unit performing angiography, embolization, cardiac catheterization, and other minimally invasive procedures
  • Day shift schedule with 5 shifts per week at 8 hours per shift
  • 13-week contract length
  • May rotate through nursing/circulator, moderate sedation, scrub, and monitor roles based on assignment
  • On-call responsibilities for the Interventional Unit as needed
  • Utilizes infusion pumps, PCA pumps, hemodynamic recorders, ECG, and other physiological monitoring equipment

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the State of Oregon
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • OR RN license required
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience required
  • At least one year of experience in critical care, ER, cath lab, or IR required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • IV certification required
  • RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
  • Conscious sedation training preferred
  • Bilingual English-Spanish speaking preferred

Additional Information

  • Administer medications including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs
  • Collaborate with rad techs and physicians on contrast allergy management and pre-procedure planning
  • Provide moderate sedation monitoring per protocol when assigned to that role
  • Function as scrub technologist using sterile technique for interventional and catheter-based procedures when assigned
  • Serve as primary monitor technologist recording hemodynamic data, pressures, and procedural events when assigned
  • Assist with patient preparation, positioning, timeout verification, and vascular access management including sheath pulls
  • Support department operations including supply management, room turnover, and equipment maintenance
  • Reports to the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader
  • Ability to provide culturally competent, age-specific patient care
